Amotekun: Police takeover Fawehinmi Park in Lagos

In a bid to stop the proposed rally of the newly launched Southwest security outfit, Amotekun in Lagos, armed mobile policemen have taken over Gani Fawehinmi Park in Ojota, venue of the rally. Code-named “Amotekun Solidarity Walk.” It was organised by Yoruba World Congress to show a peaceful protest and support for the new security outfit set up by governments of southwestern states. Atiku Abubakar hails Nigeria’s security forces, says they are undepaid

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, gave his opinion concerning the controversy surrounding the right of regions to establish internal security outfits, saying that they were necessary because the nation’s military and paramilitary forces are overstretched and underpaid.
