At last, DSS releases Sowore from detention

Less than 24-hour after an ultimatum issued by an Abuja based Federal High Court to release the convener of #RevolutionNow Movement, Omoyele Sowore, the Department of State Services (DSS) has complied with the order. The court also awarded N100,000 against the prosecution for failing to comply with court orders requesting the release of Sowore and for not serving the defense counsel with necessary documents early enough. A Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos State has ordered the recovery of pensions collected by former governors serving as ministers and members of the National Assembly. A Lagos Division of the Federal High Court, on Thursday, December 5, 2019 sentenced a serving senator and ex-governor of Abia State, Orji Kalu, to 12 years in prison for N7.65 billion fraud.
