A medical practitioner, Dr Alfred Nwoyeocha, has been dragged before Justice Hannatu Balogun of the Kaduna State High Court by a nursing mother, Peace, and her husband, Uche Onu, over her detention due to her family’s inability to settle the N480,000 allegedly incurred during childbirth through caesarean section. Doctor under investigation for performing abortion on wrong woman

A doctor who mistakenly performed an abortion on a woman in south Korea is currently under investigation. On August 7, a pregnant patient with a 6-week-old foetus had gone to a clinic in district of Gangseo, in the country’s capital Seoul, according to the Gangseo police. At the clinic, a mix-up in medical charts and failure to check her identity led to the mistaken abortion. Festus Keyamo, the Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs, has been redeployed to the Ministry of Labour and Employment about one month after assuming office. Court orders immediate release of Sowore, seizes passport

The immediate release of the convener of #RevolutionNow protest,  Omoyele Sowore, from the custody of the Department of State Services has been ordered by Justice Taiwo Taiwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday. The judge said the activist should be released to his lawyer,  Femi Falana (SAN). The judge however said since charges had already been filed against Sowore, he must deposit his passport with the court to guarantee his availability for trial.
