September 16 has been adopted by the Federal Government of Nigeria as National Identity Day. A statement by General Manager, Operations/Corporate Communications, NIMC, Abdulhamid Umar said the action is a practical move to create awareness on the importance of identification as a modern tool for national development and social cohesion.
